Why do Muslims doesn't eat Pork???

Muslims don't eat Pork for the following reasons:

If God, The Creator and the All-Wise, commands us, explicitly, not to eat Pork, then we should obey Him without any debate and without asking why.
Forbidding eating pork goes back to the time of Abraham. Pork is forbidden also in Judaism.

The fact that consumption of pork is prohibited in Islam is well known. The following points explain various aspects of this prohibition:

1. Pork prohibited in Qur'an
The Qur'an prohibits the consumption of pork in no less than 4 different places. It is prohibited in 2:173, 5:3, 6:145 and 16:115.
"Forbidden to you (for food) are: dead meat, blood, the flesh of swine, and that on which hath been invoked the name of other than Allah." [Al-Qur'an 5:3]
The above verses of the Holy Qur'an are sufficient to satisfy a Muslim as to why pork is forbidden.

2. Pork prohibited in the Bible
The Christian is likely to be convinced by his religious scriptures. The Bible prohibits the consumption of pork, in the book of Leviticus
"And the swine, though he divide the hoof, and be cloven footed, yet he cheweth not the cud; he is unclean to you".
"Of their flesh shall ye not eat, and their carcass shall ye not touch, they are unclean to you." [Leviticus 11:7-8]
Pork is also prohibited in the Bible in the book of Deuteronomy
"And the swine, because it divideth the hoof, yet cheweth not the cud, it is unclean unto you. Ye shall not eat of their flesh, nor touch their dead carcass." [Deuteronomy 14:8]
A similar prohibition is repeated in the Bible in the book of Isaiah chapter 65 verse 2-5.
Pig cannot be slaughtered at the neck due to its anatomy. To slaughter any animal, Muslims makes an incision through the jugular veins, leaving all other veins and organs intact; thus causing the death of the animal by a total loss of blood from the body. This is similar to the Kosher laws of Judaism. Chemical analysis of this blood shows that it contains an abundance of uric acid, a chemical substance which can be injurious to human health.
There is evidence that eating pork has negative impact on health.

Both Judaism and Islam forbid eating pork, as in the climate in that regions meat goes off easily. Since pork meat doesn't smell when it goes off one may not be able to tell, and get food poisoning.

Answer A

Muslims do not eat pork because it is Haraam to eat the meat of the swine which is believed to not be clean. That which is permissible is termed Halaal, but that which is not permissible is termed Haraam. It is the Qu'ran which draws the distinction between these two, and the meat of the pig is Haraam.
It is written in the Qu'ran: "Forbidden to you are: dead meat, blood, the flesh of swine, and that on which hath been invoked a name other than that of Allah." (Al-Ma'idah:3)
This tradition goes back to the time of Abraham. In fact even in Leviticus we read: ...and the swine, as he divideth the hoof, and be cloven footed, yet he cheweth not the cud; he is unclean to you. Of their flesh shall ye not eat, and their carcass shall ye not touch, they are unclean to you." (Leviticus chapter 11 verse 7 and 8).

Furthermore, a pig cannot be slaughtered at the neck due to its anatomy and to slaughter any animal Muslims makes an incision through the jugular veins, leaving all other veins and organs intact; thus causing the death of the animal by a total loss of blood from the body, rather than an injury to any vital organ as Islam has prohibited blood of any type. A Muslim reasons that if the pig was to be slaughtered and fit for human consumption the Creator would have provided it with a neck. This is similar to the Kosher laws of Judaism.

Interestingly enough, chemical analysis of this blood shows that it contains an abundance of uric acid, a chemical substance which can be injurious to human health. Also, there are many harmful effects of the consumption of pork, in any form, be it pork chops, ham, bacon. Medical science finds that there is a risk for various diseases as the pig is found to be a host for many parasites and potential diseases as the pig's biochemistry excretes only 2% of its total uric acid content, the remaining 98% remains as an integral part of the body. I imagine that in antiquity it would have been noticed that those who frequently ate this meat were subject to various diseases and maladies.

We as Muslims believe that Allah (SW) is a Legislator, not like any other human legislator. He is God who is All Knowing and when he commands us, so that is definitely in our favour, even if our limited minds are unable to understand why. Sometimes we make trials to understand why, and we can fully or partially succeed, but sometimes we still don't understand why; that is to say the above answers could be fully correct or partially correct, because there could be other reasons that Allah (SW) knows but we don't.
If we made a simple test getting a cow, a goat and a pig, starved all of them for a day and kept them in a close place and offered them green grass in one heap and another heap of rotten flesh, bones and blood and see what will happen. I do believe the pork by its nature will go to the rubbish while the others will eat from the grass.
If this is the nature of this being, so the probability of ingesting pathogenic organisms and parasites available in the rubbish will be much higher than the other Herbivora animals, thus in the sense of probability, the pig will be more responsible for transferring diseases to human beings than the other allowable to eat animals.
If somebody told me that we have farms where we offer only grass for our pigs, so no disease transfer is possible, I will tell him that Allah (SW) is a Legislator who when decrees, so that is for all humans not you alone. Can you guarantee that poor people who are in drought will be having your farms to properly take care of their pigs? they will definitely let it eat the rubbish, and accordingly will be more liable to diseases, that is possibly why Allah (SW) wants to save them.
All of the reasons could be exactly or partially the right ones or still there could be other reasons that Allah (SW) knows but we don't, that Allah (SW) knows best.


Allah Almighty prohibits for His servants to eat swine. The Qu'ran says, "Forbidden to you (for food) are: dead meat, blood, the flesh of swine, and that on which hath been invoked a name other than that of Allah." (Al-Ma'idah: 3)

Muslims are forbidden to eat meat that hasn't been completely drained of blood and slaughtered not in a religious way or cause. But are also forbidden to eat certain meat, in this case "pork," because of many other reasons.

FILES OF MY LIFE - DOCUMENTATION OF MY ACTIONS

BEAUTIFUL STORY ... MUST READ !!!!

In that place between wakefulness and dreams, I found myself in a room. There were no distinguishing features save for the one wall covered with small index card files. They were like the ones in libraries that list titles by author or subject in alphabetical order. But these files, which stretched from floor to ceiling and seemingly endlessly in either direction, had very different headings. As I drew near the wall of files, the first to catch my attention was one that read "People I Have Liked". I opened it and began flipping through the cards. I quickly shut it, shocked to realize that I recognized the names written on each one.

And then without being told, I knew exactly where I was.

This lifeless room with its small files was a crude catalog system for my life. Here were written the actions of my every moment, big and small, in a detail my memory couldn't match. A sense of wonder and curiosity, coupled with horror, stirred within me as I began randomly opening files and exploring their content. Some brought joy and sweet memories; others a sense of shame and regret so intense that I would look over my shoulder to see if anyone was watching.

A file named "Friends" was next to one marked "Friends I Have Betrayed". The titles ranged from the mundane to the outright weird. "Books I Have Read", "Lies I Have Told", "Comfort I Have Given", "Jokes I Have Laughed At". Some were almost hilarious in their exactness: "Things I've Yelled at My Brothers." Others I couldn't laugh at: "Things I Have Done in My Anger", "Things I Have Muttered Under My Breath at My Parents". I never ceased to be surprised by the contents. Often there were many more cards than I expected. Sometimes fewer than I hoped.

I was overwhelmed by the sheer volume of the life I had lived. Could it be possible that I had the time in my 30 years to write each of these thousands or even millions of cards? But each card confirmed this truth. Each was written in my own handwriting. Each signed with my signature.

When I pulled out the file marked "Songs I Have Listened To", I realized the files grew to contain their contents. The cards were packed tightly and yet after two or three yards, I hadn't found the end of the file. I shut it, shamed, not so much by the quality of music, but more by the vast amount of time I knew that file represented.

When I came to a file marked "Lustful Thoughts", I felt a chill run through my body. I pulled the file out only an inch, not willing to test its size, and drew out a card. I shuddered at its detailed content. I felt sick to think that such a moment had been recorded.

An almost animal rage broke on me. One thought dominated my mind: "No one must ever see these cards! No one must ever see this room! I have to destroy them!" In an insane frenzy I yanked the file out. Its size didn't matter now. I had to empty it and burn the cards. But as I took it at one end and began pounding it on the floor, I could not dislodge a single card. I became desperate and pulled out a card, only to find it as strong as steel when I tried to tear it. Defeated and utterly helpless, I returned the file to its slot. Leaning my forehead against the wall, I let out a long, self-pitying sigh.

And then I saw it.

The title bore "People that I Have Taught About Allah". The handle was brighter than those around it, newer, almost unused. I pulled on its handle and a small box not more than three inches long fell into my hands. I could count the cards it contained on one hand.

And then the tears came. I began to weep. Sobs so deep that the hurt started in my stomach and shook through me. I fell on my knees and cried. I cried out of shame, from the overwhelming shame of it all. The rows of file shelves swirled in my tear-filled eyes. No one must ever, ever know of this room.

I must lock it up and hide the key.

QUESTION IS THAT HOW MANY OF US ARE READY TO VIEW THE FILES OF OUR OWN ACTIONS .... ????? EACH AND EVERY MOMENT OF OUR LIFE IS RECORDED .... SO PLZ BE VERY CAREFUL WHEN U HURT SOMEONE, WHEN U COMMIT A SIN THINKING NO ONE IS SEEING, WHEN U LIE AND THINK NO ONE KNOWS THE TRUTH EXCEPT U ...... 

WE ARE NOT DOING BAD FOR OTHERS ... IN FACT WE DIG A DITCH FOR OURSELVES .... ON THE DAY OF JUDGEMENT, WE WONT FIND EVEN A SINGLE SOUL TO BLAME IT ON . !!!!

Mujur tidak hilang tempat berteduh

Seorang wanita mualaf berketurunan Cina kini boleh menarik nafas lega selepas mahkamah meluluskan permohonannya bagi mendapatkan surat probet yang membolehkan beliau bertindak selaku wasi atau 'executor' bagi memindahkan pemilikan flat tiga bilik ibu angkatnya di Bukit Batok. Kesemua itu dibolehkan kerana ibu angkatnya, juga mualaf keturunan Cina, telah membuat surat hibah amanah sebelum meninggal dunia. SAINI SALLEH , yang menemu bual beliau baru-baru ini, turut menyorot trend penggunaan hibah yang semakin diterima masyarakat Islam.

Mualaf warisi flat ibu angkat melalui hibah amanah

CIK Nur Aniza Abdullah tidak tahu apa yang harus dilakukan sekiranya ibu angkatnya yang sakit melarat akibat diserang angin ahmar pergi buat selama-lamanya.

Mualaf berketurunan Cina berusia 43 tahun itu mungkin tiada lagi tempat berteduh kerana statusnya sebagai anak angkat tidak membolehkannya mewarisi flat ibu angkatnya itu mengikut hukum faraid.

Ini kerana hukum faraid menetapkan 100 peratus hasil penjualan flat itu disalurkan ke baitulmal.

Tidak terlintas dalam fikirannya cara lain bagi beliau mewarisi flat tiga bilik di Bukit Batok itu lebih-lebih lagi ibu angkatnya sendiri mahu menyerahkan pemilikan rumah itu kepadanya.

Atas saranan seorang rakan, beliau mendapatkan khidmat Encik Sadali Rasban, penulis buku-buku mengenai pengalihan harta dan harta pusaka berlandaskan hukum syariah yang juga pemilik HTHT Advisory Services Pte Ltd, sebuah firma perunding cara bagi membantu melakarkan surat-surat pengalihan harta termasuk wasiat dan hibah amanah.

Firmanya juga membantu waris mendapatkan surat-surat Letter of Administration atau Letter of Probate , pembahagian harta pusaka dan membantu peguam dalam isu-isu pusaka Islam yang mereka kendalikan.

Ibu angkat Cik Nur Aniza, Cik Fatimah Ismail, seorang mualaf keturunan Cina juga, tidak mempunyai anak kandung hasil pernikahan dengan suaminya, juga mualaf keturunan Sri Lanka, dalam 1960-an.

Beliau, yang sakit terlantar sejak 2010, meninggal dunia pada Julai 2011 pada usia 72 tahun.

Suaminya meninggal dunia pada 1991 selepas kembali semula kepada agama asalnya, Kristian.

Cik Aniza, guru bahasa Melayu sambilan, adalah satu-satunya anak angkat mereka.

Encik Sadali, yang menyedari terdapatnya peruntukan hukum Islam yang membolehkan ibu angkatnya memberikan hak pemilikan flatnya kepada Cik Aniza, tampil membantu dengan menyiapkan dokumen sewajarnya.

Dokumen berupa surat-surat wasiat dan Hibah Amanah itu telah ditandatangani oleh Cik Fatimah, Cik Anizah, seorang peguam dan dua saksi termasuk Encik Sadali pada Disember 2010.

Surat itu, antara lain, menyebut bahawa Cik Fatimah mahu menghadiahkan flatnya kepada Cik Aniza semasa hidup beliau dan pengalihan tukar milik akan berlaku apabila beliau meninggal dunia.

Selepas Cik Fatimah meninggal dunia, Cik Aniza - yang berbekalkan surat-surat wasiat dan hibah amanah itu - kembali menghubungi Encik Sadali untuk melaksanakan wasiat dan hibah amanah ibu angkatnya.

"Saya masih samar-samar sama ada wasiat hibah amanah arwah ibu angkat saya itu boleh dilaksanakan.

"Ini kerana saya tidak pernah mendengar kes anak angkat boleh mewarisi pusaka ibu angkatnya," tambah Cik Aniza.

Menurut Encik Sadali, untuk melaksanakan hibah amanah itu, beliau telah membantu Cik Aniza memfail afidavit bagi memohon mendapatkan surat probet di Mahkamah Rendah pada Februari lalu.

Surat probet itu memberi hak kepada Cik Aniza sebagai wasi atau executor untuk melaksanakan wasiat dan hibah amanah ibu angkatnya itu.

Antara dokumen yang dikemukakan termasuk surat hibah amanah, surat wasiat terakhir dan pengakuan Allahyarhamha Fatimah mengenai pusakanya itu.

Dalam pada itu, Cik Aniza juga mendapatkan sijil warisan daripada Mahkamah Syariah yang menetapkan harta pusaka estet Allahyarhamha Fatimah hendaklah diagihkan secara faraid - diserahkan kepada baitulmal.

Encik Sadali kemudian merujuk kepada mahkamah sivil yang mempunyai kuasa membuat keputusan terhadap kes-kes seumpama itu mengikut hukum negara.

Mentelah lagi, Akta Pentadbiran Hukum Islam (Amla) menetapkan pembahagian harta pusaka seorang Muslim mesti diagih mengikut hukum syariah.

Tiada mana-mana bahagian Amla yang menyatakan harta pusaka mesti diagih mengikut faraid, kata Encik Sadali.

Namun, tugas tersebut tidak semudah disangka.

Cik Aniza, janda tanpa anak, dengan bantuan Encik Sadali, berjaya menjelaskan kepada mahkamah mengenai pembahagian pusaka Allahyarhamha ibu angkatnya itu berdasarkan hibah amanah itu.

"Pembahagian secara hibah amanah itu adalah salah satu cara pembahagian harta secara syariah yang berlaku apabila ada kematian, bukan semata-mata secara faraid," tegas Encik Sadali.

Selepas agak lama menunggu, Cik Aniza akhirnya lega apabila pihak mahkamah meluluskan permohonannya bagi mendapatkan surat probet.

Surat Probet hanya dikeluarkan apabila mahkamah menerima surat-surat wasiat dan Hibah Amanah.

Dengan surat probet itu, beliau mengemukakan permohonan kepada pihak Lembaga Perumahan dan Pembangunan (HDB) untuk diiktiraf sebagai executor (wasi) dan memindahkan pemilikan flat ibu angkatnya kepada dirinya sendiri.

Menuntut Ilmu

Rasulullah bersabda, "Menuntut ilmu merupakan kewajiban atas setiap muslim". (HR. Ibnu Majah), "Barangsiapa meniti satu jalan u mencari ilmu, niscaya dg hal itu ALLAH jalankan dia di atas jalan di antara jalan2 Syurga. Sesungguhnya para Malaikat membentangkan sayap2 mrk krn ridho kpd pencari ilmu agama. Sesungguhnya seorg ‘alim itu dimintakan ampun oleh siapa saja yg ada di langit & di bumi, & oleh ikan2 di dalam air. Sesungguhnya keutamaan seorg ‘alim atas ahli ibadah sprti keutamaan bulan purnama drpd seluruh bintang2. Sesungguhnya para ulama itu pewaris para Nabi. Para Nabi itu tdk mewariskan dinar & dirham, tetapi mewariskan ilmu. Barangsiapa yg mengambilnya maka dia telah mengambil bahagian yg byk". (HR. Abu Dawud, Tirmidzi, Ibnu Majah & Ahmad).
