CINTAILAH ISTERIMU

CINTAILAH ISTERIMU.....apabila dia menyuruhmu BERSOLAT, kerana dia ingin masuk syurga bersama-samamu suami kesayangannya.

Sugar can make you dumb, US scientists warn

Eating too much sugar can eat away at your brainpower, according to US scientists who published a study Tuesday showing how a steady diet of high-fructose corn syrup sapped lab rats' memories.
Researchers at the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) fed two groups of rats a solution containing high-fructose corn syrup -- a common ingredient in processed foods -- as drinking water for six weeks.
One group of rats was supplemented with brain-boosting omega-3 fatty acids in the form of flaxseed oil and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA), while the other group was not.
Before the sugar drinks began, the rats were enrolled in a five-day training session in a complicated maze. After six weeks on the sweet solution, the rats were then placed back in the maze to see how they fared.
"The DHA-deprived animals were slower, and their brains showed a decline in synaptic activity," said Fernando Gomez-Pinilla, a professor of neurosurgery at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA.
"Their brain cells had trouble signaling each other, disrupting the rats' ability to think clearly and recall the route they'd learned six weeks earlier."
A closer look at the rat brains revealed that those who were not fed DHA supplements had also developed signs of resistance to insulin, a hormone that controls blood sugar and regulates brain function.
"Because insulin can penetrate the blood-brain barrier, the hormone may signal neurons to trigger reactions that disrupt learning and cause memory loss," Gomez-Pinilla said.
In other words, eating too much fructose could interfere with insulin's ability to regulate how cells use and store sugar, which is necessary for processing thoughts and emotions.
"Insulin is important in the body for controlling blood sugar, but it may play a different role in the brain, where insulin appears to disturb memory and learning," Gomez-Pinilla said.
"Our study shows that a high-fructose diet harms the brain as well as the body. This is something new."
High-fructose corn syrup is commonly found in soda, condiments, applesauce, baby food and other processed snacks.
The average American consumes more than 40 pounds (18 kilograms) of high-fructose corn syrup per year, according to the US Department of Agriculture.
While the study did not say what the equivalent might be for a human to consume as much high-fructose corn syrup as the rats did, researchers said it provides some evidence that metabolic syndrome can affect the mind as well as the body.
"Our findings illustrate that what you eat affects how you think," said Gomez-Pinilla.
"Eating a high-fructose diet over the long term alters your brain's ability to learn and remember information. But adding omega-3 fatty acids to your meals can help minimize the damage."
The study appeared in the Journal of Physiology.

The Levels of Prayer

The First: The level of the one who is negligent and wrongs his soul: He is the one who falls short in performing wudhoo (ablution) properly, performing the prayer upon its time and within its specified limits, and in fulfilling its essential pillars.

The Second: The one who guards his prayers upon their proper times and within their specified limits, fulfils their essential pillars and performs his wudhoo with care. However, his striving (in achieving the above) is wasted due whisperings in his prayer so he is taken away by thoughts and ideas.

The Third: The one who guards his prayers within the specified limits, fulfils their essential pillars and strives with himself to repel the whisperings, thoughts and ideas. He is busy struggling against his enemy (Shaytaanor Satan) so that he does not steal from the prayer. On account of this he is engaged in (both) prayer and jihaad.

The Fourth: The one who stands for the prayer, completes and perfects its due rights, its essential pillars, performs it within its specified limits and his heart becomes engrossed in safeguarding its rights and specified limits, so that nothing is wasted from it. His whole concern is directed towards its establishment, its completion and its perfection, as it should be. His heart is immersed in the prayer and in enslavement to his Lord the Exalted.

The Fifth: The one who stands for the prayer like the one mentioned above. However, on top of this, he has taken and placed his heart in front of his Lord Azzawajall, looking towards Him with his heart with anticipation, (his heart) filled with His love and His might, as if he sees and witnesses Allaah. The whisperings, thoughts and ideas have vanished and the coverings which are between him and his Lord are raised. What is between this person and others with respect to the prayer, is superior and greater than what is between the heavens and the earth. This person is busy with his Lord Azzawajall, delighted with Him.

The First type will be punished, the second type will be held to account, the third will have his sins and shortcomings expiated, the fourth will be rewarded and the fifth will be close to his Lord, because he will receive the portion of the one who makes his prayer the delight and pleasure of his eye. Whoever makes his prayer, the delight and pleasure of his eye, will have the nearness to his Lord Azzawajall made the delight and pleasure of his eye in the hereafter. He will also be made a pleasure to the eye in this world since whoever makes Allaah the pleasure of his eye in this world, every other eye will become delighted and pleased with him.

Now think about this, what level do you think you are in?

Are you sure?

Could be better, right?

This is kinda scary.

Mystery woman in Ferrari crash identified

Yahoo! Newsroom – Sat, May 12, 2012 The mystery passenger in the Ferrari that crashed into a taxi on Saturday has been identified as a student from Wuhan, China. According to the Straits Times, Wu Wei Wei is said to be either 20 or 21 years old and a recent graduate from a hospitality course at the East Asia Institute of Management. Wu was allegedly at a graduation party with her classmates just hours before the accident. It is unclear how she knew the Ferrari driver Ma Chi and how they ended up together, reported ST. Friends whom the paper spoke to declined to speculate on their relationship but when asked if she was moonlighting as a nightclub hostess, her friends insisted she was a full-time student. She is one of two survivors in the fatal three-vehicle accident at the junction off Raffles Hospital in Bugis and is currently being hospitalised at Tan Tock Seng Hospital. The other survivor, 26-year-old motorcyclist Muhammad Najib Ghazali is also recuperating at the same hospital. The accident has claimed the lives of three other people, including 52-year-old Cheng Teck Hock, the taxi driver, and the Ferrari driver Ma Chi. The passenger in the taxi has also been identified as Shigemi Ito, a Japanese student in her 20s who had studied interior design at a private school. [Watch shocking video of high-speed crash] Chan, a father of three, had sustained a severe brain haemorrhage and died in the intensive care unit of Tan Tock Seng Hospital at about 7pm on Sunday, reported the Straits Times. A spokesperson from the Singapore Civil Defence Force said they received a call at 4:17am notifying them of the accident, which involved a red Ferrari, a motorbike and a taxi. The Ferrari driver has been identified as 31-year-old Chinese businessman Ma Chi, who was pronounced dead on the scene. The Sunday Times reported that Ma is a financial investor from Sichuan, China and relocated to Singapore and with this wife and child four years ago. According to a family friend, the paper reported he was said to be applying for permanent residency here. He and his family live in a penthouse in the East Coast and his wife is expecting a second child. According to Shin Min Daily News, witnesses say that the Ferrari crashed into a taxi when it ran a red light, causing the taxi to hit a passing motorcycle. Ma's family members were reported to have been spotted at the mortuary on the same morning. His mother was said to be extremely distraught. In the last 12 days, six accidents had occurred at the same spot, reported the Shin Min Daily News.

‘The taxi went flying through the air’

Yahoo! Newsroom – Mon, May 14, 2012 The last thing Muhammad Najib Ghazali saw before he was sent flying from his motorbike was the dislodged tyre of a taxi coming straight at him. Moments later, he was flung off from his bike and hit the tarmac hard, dislocating his right arm, fracturing his rib and hurting his spine. Najib, still warded in Tan Tock Seng Hospital, is one of two survivors from the high-speed accident involving a Ferrari in the wee hours of Saturday morning. The fatal accident at the intersection of Rochor Road and Victoria Street has already claimed three lives – the Ferrari driver was killed on the spot while the taxi driver and his passenger both later died in hospital. The taxi passenger has been identified as Shigemi Ito, a Japanese woman in her 20s who is believed to be living and working in Singapore, the Straits Times reported. A young woman reportedly from China was with Ma in the Ferrari during the crash and she suffered head injuries and fractured her right leg. “It was horrifying to see the tyre [of the taxi] right before my eyes, and after that I saw the taxi flip,” said the 26-year-old former dispatch rider. Clad in a blue hospital gown and surrounded by his family in a ward at Tan Tock Seng Hospital, Najib recounted the horrific events on the night itself. Wearing a tired smile throughout the whole interview, he told Yahoo! Singapore, “The Ferrari beat the red light and smashed into the taxi, and the taxi smashed into my bike. I did not see the smash. I only heard it because I was making a right turn. The moment I turned my head to look, I saw the tyre of the taxi coming towards me.” Sporting a snaking long scar down his right forearm, Najib said the taxi went “airborne” seconds before it landed 50 metres away from where it was hit by the Ferrari. The aftermath of the accident was a “smoky mess”. “From there I totally couldn’t see anything because there was so much smoke and the debris was just starting to settle together with the petrol. It was raining fuel,” he said. Najib counts his lucky stars to have escaped his fourth major accident and “uncountable” minor ones. The avid motorcyclist, who started riding since he was 19-years-old, sees his most recent close shave with death as a sign to finally stop riding. “This is the fourth time I cheated death. Usually people say strike three, you’re out. [In the accident] I am the most unprotected one but I survived, so I don’t want to take the risk anymore. I want to just live to the fullest now,” he said. Muhammad Najib told his mother of his intention to give up riding after spending a quiet Mothers’ Day with a “picnic” of home-cooked food in the hospital room on Sunday. “It [the accident] happened just before Mothers’ day, and I imagined for a moment there what if something worse had happened to me? It would be the worst Mothers’ day present a mother can get,” he said.
